Dear agent of change,
Do you ever feel like you have great passion for something with plenty of great ideas, but you don't know how to get it out there?
You're not alone.
Having a great idea, product or service is no longer enough.
Let's face it.... Every woman and child (and their dog) seems to be an "expert" in their trade. And they're screaming it from every social media platform out there. The marketplace is more crowded than ever. And people are more distracted than ever. (Oh! And not to mention people seem to want everything for that magic word...FREE!)
It feels overwhelming, right? All these people, products and services. And you... alone, with something that looks and sounds just like all the other 'somethings' out there.
So how do take what you are passionate about, together with what you are good at and make a difference AND make money doing it?
You need a Unique Strategic Process
Standing out in the crowd is suddenly a different animal. Being the loudest no longer works.
You see... There is no accident that Apple has the products it has with the solution it provides to the people who buy them (at quite a nice price point I might add) and use them.
There is an exact science.
In business, you can't be everything to everybody. But you can be something unique to someone. So, what is that something and who is that somebody?
This question is harder for most people to answer than they think. Let me give you an example.
Have you ever heard of a coach who can help you in your marriage AND your business? Now, I'm not saying they can't. What I am saying is... as a coach, that doesn't get you heard above all the noise. Period.
The Unique Strategic Process:
1. Articulate your outcome/solution
People are not interested in what you do. They are interested in what problem you can solve. This sounds simple enough. However, the real challenge is most often your potential client doesn't know what solution they need.
As an agent of change, you need to be able to communicate your solution in such a way they identify your product or service as THE solution for them. And they need to do whatever it takes to get it. eg: Paying for it! (and paying what you're worth).
2. Refine your service delivery
Often we have products or services we've developed that do not actually fit the solution we think they do. There's also the added problem that agents of change, such as yourself, want to throw everything but the kitchen sink at their clients. This only overwhelms people and instead of 100% of one service, they get 0% of 101 services offered to them.
3. Identify the exact people who are willing and ready to pay for your product/service
Imagine if you had clients who loved working with you and you loved working with them. And they pay you what you are worth, no questions asked. There is no such thing as 'everyone who is willing to pay is my potential client'. It's invaluable to identify your target market and then your ideal client. This is where we all need to start and then we can expand.
It's really not as complicated as it sounds.
Sure, there is an art to it. However, once you know the process then you can apply it and take your business or your product or service to the next level. This is your chance to take out the guesswork and frustration.
Now is your time. If you've ever thought about creating a real and profitable business out of what you're passionate about, or you've already started one and become discouraged, now is the time to restart.
